BELGRADE. AGE. DANCE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN PAST AND PRESENT, THE OLD AND NEW.

When I experience as a spectator the soul of a performer, whilst encapsulated by the process within the performance, it is nothing but Magical. To witness the complexity of cultural integrity, and the acceptance of the fragility of age and life form as a dancer, it is more than a Performance.

Age, the ultimate manifestation of the human body, formed and reforming steadily in time, whilst recognising the external signs of ageing requires acceptance of our mortality, journey and destination.

Age, the ultimate manifestation of the human body

The dancer body, is something quite different, ageing brings to life a new motion and articulation, immersed in fragments of past training, techniques with breathing, reaching, expanding and falling through space. The process of growing old seems as though it is also the Gift of Life, entangled with both past and present memories, with a on-going sensation of what the body use to do and what the body can do.

My Manifestation:

1: Accepting all that is and not yet seen or felt.

2. Accepting that rituals and practices in movement are the soul of ones existence.

3. Accepting that we filter through each moment of life, and the only aspect of ourselves which remain are the fibres of our inner experiences.
