BLACK IS THE SOUL THAT REMAINS. SEX. DRUGS. ALCOHOL.

As I work through an intensive period of investigation on the PhD, I need to take time to be here on the blog, as it provides an opening to think less academically, and to be more Real.

One of the greatest lessons I have learnt as a choreographer who remains devoted to the creation and execution of contemporary dance, is some people will never change!

Regularly, I am still exposed to the exploitation of the female body, used as a form of creation. Photography, Video or what is called Pornography, which exposes the depth of another human soul, in a preverse and derogatory display. This is not Art or Talent. I personally believe its common place, and low.

Black is the soul that remains. Harriet Macauley

In fact, it is a demonstration of the desperation for Acceptance, Success, Love, Attention or Understanding.

The history on photography of Women in general, dictates that there will always be desperation and exploitation from Men/Boys.

More specifically, those who were abused or affected by a nonconsensual sexual experience, who desire Attention, Success, Power and Acclaim.

Quoted from Tupac 1996 “the exploitation of a women *her body – is not the highest of Artistic Talent, It is lowest”
