Needless to say, the word Truth, despite the variances in definition/meaning, can be used when making decisions, to enhance and amplify a better understanding of myself within the collaborative choreographic process.
DOING DRAMATURGY continues to take my practice through a series of essential questions, which I believe has brought forth a flurry of new perspectives on what I think I create and do as a choreographer. The lens of a dramaturg is inviting and yet revealing.
Challenging as the process is to really dissect what we do as makers, I believe it invites new knowledge, and I am able to decide on what I intend to do and not do.
Choreography is a multifaceted layer of creativity, which I believe surpasses the action of simply creating movement phrases.
